An Open Letter to David Cameron

Dear Mr Cameron,
Recently in parliament you castigated Israel for building in East Jerusalem. Have you visited Jerusalem recently? Have you spoken to the mayor of the city Nir Barkat – who I’m sure would be very pleased to tell you the truth – in perfect English?
Jerusalem was no more than a backwater town of the Ottoman Empire, of no interest to the Muslim Arabs at the time. The only time that Jerusalem has been of interest to the Muslims was during the Crusades – and that was a religious issue affecting ALL Muslim lands. Jerusalem/Zion is not mentioned even once in the Koran, but is mentioned over 700 times in the Old Testament, otherwise known as the Jewish Bible.
During the period of illegal Jordanian occupation of Jerusalem and the West Bank – recognized only by H.M.’s government of the time and Pakistan – between 1948 and 1967 the Jordanian authorities destroyed synagogues, used Jewish gravestones to build public toilets and denied Jews access to the Western Wall and other Jewish Holy Places.
Since 1967, when Israel took control of Jerusalem in a defensive war forced upon us by the Arabs, the closing of the Tiran Straits being casus belli, all faiths have had access to their Holy Places. Let me remind you that under International Law, Israel is entitled to keep ALL the land taken in self-defence. Sadly the world dismisses International Law. Why I ask, does the world not uphold International Law? Because Israel is the Jewish State and Jews are the eternal scapegoats of all, from the Catholic Church, to Martin Luther to the Tsars of Russia to Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin and the followers of Islam from its founding until today.
When the Allies won both World War I and World War II it was they, not Germany, who dictated the terms of the peace. Why is Israel, not allowed the same consideration?
Not one single Arab house has been destroyed to make way for a Jewish home, but Jews have been able, through the Law Courts, to reclaim property illegally occupied by Arabs between 1948 and 1967. Many claims by Jews have also been denied.
Since 1967 Israel has given the Arab residents of Jerusalem citizenship and the right to vote. The citizenship has been gladly accepted, because it gives them the right to work, but the majority have been reluctant to vote, because Islamic ideology denies the right of Israel to exist and/or pressure from the terror organisations Hamas, Islamic Jihad as well as the Palestinian Authority.
The Palestinian Authority continues daily to incite their followers via television, radio, the printed media and social media to violence against Jews and Israel. If you are in doubt please visit the site of The Middle East Media Research Institute. This will resolve your doubts.
It is not that many years ago that I had children in school. After the signing of the Oslo Agreements our schools taught our children that we should seek peace.
I and most Israelis want peace, but in seeking peace we do not want to commit suicide.
I know that you have millions of Muslim citizens in the United Kingdom, I’ve been down the East End of London to areas like Whitechapel. But even as a politician who needs votes to stay in office, you do not have to distort the truth.
If Western nations, especially Britain who had influence in the Middle East in the early years after Israel was established, had told the Arab and Muslim nations to shape up and accept the fact of Israel’s existence the situation would have been different. If Egypt, Jordan and Syria had not tried to ‘throw the Jews into the sea’ in 1967, Israel would not have had to take lands in self-defence.
Even today, neither Hamas nor The Palestinian Authority is prepared to accept Israel. Why is that? As the leader of Hamas in Gaza, Ishmael Hania, recently said, the present wave of terror against Jews in Israel is NOT frustration, but Jihad, the same Jihad being waged by ISIS/Daesh/Islamic State.
Until the Western Democracies are brave enough to admit that Islam, albeit Extremist Islam, is at war with them, peace will not come to the Middle East and Israel will not be in a position to make peace without committing suicide. This, no Israeli, not even from the extreme left of our Zionist political spectrum is willing to do.
