Dear Readers,
I am sitting in Israel, on the outskirts of Jerusalem, wondering when world leaders, especially those of the democratic countries, will recognize the fact that Israel is in the 'front lines'in the battle against Islamic Terror and that Hamas is no different from those groups taking over parts of Syria and Iraq.
I read the Western, particularly British media, and to my horror find that Israel is to blame for everything. May I remind my readers, that Israel unilaterally pulled out of Gaza in August 2005; nine years ago. The 7000 to 8000 Israelis in Gaza had mainly grown flowers and vegetables and had lived well. The greenhouses were left for the Palestinians to take over and use. But, true to the Arab nature they destroyed everything.
When Israel left the guarding of the border between Gaza and Egypt to the EU and Palestinian Authority to monitor, Hamas was able to smuggle thousands of rockets in Gaza, which they used to fire at Israeli towns. Aided by Iran, with Egypt turning a blind eye, the quantity grew and quality of the rockets improved.
Fast forward to July 2104, Hamas terrorists killed three Jewish teenagers, and an Arab teenagers was killed in revenge, a heinous act.
Hamas then increased the number of daily rocket attacks, usually a trickle to a barrage.
Israel made an effort to let Hamas stop the rocket fire. Hamas refused. Hamas knew that if hostilities broke out on a large scale, photos of dead Gazans, particularly children, which it uses as 'human shields' would turn public opinion against Israel.
However, most world leaders, including those in the Arab world blamed Hamas.
The violence is ongoing. Let us pray for peace and await the outcome.
Will it be a victory for decency and common sense or will the world support Hamas terror? If the latter, I suggest the democratic countries ready themselves for the coming Islamic invasion, first of Europe, then God knows where.
